A. Petition: SV-2008-AR-13618, CHM Naples Hotel Partners, LLC, is requesting three sign variances to
allow two wall signs for Spring Hill Suites, and one direclional monument sign to serve as both an on-
premises sign for Spring Hill Suites and an off-premises sign for Fairfield Inn. The first variance is from
Section 5.06.04.C.4. of the Land Developmenl Code (LDC), which requires that one wall sign shall be
permitted for each single-occupancy parcel, to allow two wall signs. The second variance is from Section
5.06.0~.C.16.b.i. of the LDC, which allows a maximum sign area of 12 square feet for an otl'-premise
directional sign, to allow a 35.5:1:: square foot off-premise sign. The third variance is from Section
5.06.04.C.16.b.ii. of the LDC, which allows a maximum sign height of8 feet above the lowest center grade of
the arterial roadway for an off-premise directional Sib'll, to allow a maximum sign height of 12 feet. The
subject property is located at 3798 White Lake Boulevard, in Section 35, Township 49 South, Range 26

Robert L. Duane, AICP, of Hole Montes, Inc., is requesling three (3) Sign Variances. The first variance is
from Land Development Code (I.DC) Subsection 5.06.04 C.16.b.i. which allows a maximum sign area of 12
square feet for an off-premise directional sign to allow a 32 -I- square foot off-premise sign. The second
variance is from LDC Subsection 5.06.04 C.16.b.v. which requires a sign to be localed within LOOO lineal
feet of the interseclion of the road serving the use to allow greater distances of up to 6,000 lineal feet for up lO
lOuses. The third sign variance is from LDC Subsection 5.06.04 C. 16.c which requires a sign to be located
no closer than 50 feet from a residentially zoned district to allow a lesser distance of 23 feet. The subject

County Enforcement Board. An 8-10 minute powerPoint presentation to review salient points of revisions
and answer any questions that Commissioners may have. In addition, copies of the tinal draft (comprised of
minor modifications) will be provided for the CCPC to review prior to the LDC Sign Code Revisions Public
Hearing on Monday, March 2, 2009.
