AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING COUNTY ORDINANCE
NO. 80-54 RELATINa TO THE MARCO COMMUNITY CENTER
MUNICIPAL SERVICE TAXINa UNIT BY PROVIDING THAT
TI{E GOVERNING BODY OF THE UNIT SHALl, NOT HAVE THE
POWER TO LEVY AD VALOREM TAX~S IN EXCESS OF ONE
(1) MIL IN ANY ONE YEAR: PROVIDING FOR EMERGENCY
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Section 6 of Collier County 0rd~nance No. 80-$~is ~
hereby amended to read as follows, ~~ ~:
"The Board, pursuant to th~ authorit~ ~anted it
by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Florida
shall have the power to lev~ ad valorem taxes as
may ba legal for the purpose of providing and
operating a Communit~ Center within the Unit. Sa~d
taxes shall be levie~ and a budget prepared or
adopted by laid Board at the same time and in
the same manner as said Board prepares and adopts
its County annual budset and levies taxes al pro-
vided by law. Said taxes shall be assessed,
levied, collected, remitted to and accounted for
at the same time and in the same manner as the
assessment, levy, collection, remittance and
accountability of taxes by said Board as pro-
vided by law. The aforesaid notwithatandins,
the KoverninK bOd~ shall not have'th~...po6er to
levy ad valorem taxes in excess of one (1) mil
in any one year."
Section 2. Emersency and Effective Date.
This Board does hereby declare that an emergency exists
and that immediate enactment of this 0xdinance is necessary,
and by no less than four-fifths (4/5) vote of the membership
of the Beard does hereby waive notice of intent to consider
this Ordinance·
A certified copy of this Ordinance, as enacted, ~all
be filed by the Clerk of the Board with the Departmen~of
State of the State of Florida, as loon after enactment~e
practicable by depositing the same with the postal
of the Governmen~ of the United S~ates for special
by certified ~il, postage prepaid, to the Florida Depar~nt
of State. ~ts Ordinance shall taka effec~ when a cop2 has
been accepted by ~he postal authorities of the Gove~en~ of
the United Stataa for epacial deliver7 by certified mail to
tho Florida Department of State.
