· AN ORDINANCE RE~ATING.TO COURT COSTS; ESTABLISHING AN
ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF AN ADDITIONAL
COURT COST OF TWO DOLLARS ($2.00) AGAINST EVERY PERSON
CONVICTED FOR VIOLATION OF A STATE PENAL OR CRIMINAL STATUTE
OR A COUNTY ORDINANCE, EXCLUDING THEREFROM VIOLATIONS
RELATING TO THE PARKING OF VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR THE
EXPENDITURE OF SAID FUNDS; REPEALING ORDINANCE 74-19 AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Circuit and County Courts of Collier County,
Florida are currently authorized to assess an additional One
Dollar ($1.00) court cost agninst every person convicted for
violation of a state penal or criminal statute, or County
ordinance, excluding therefrom violations relating to the parking
of vehicles; and
WHEREAS, Section 943.25, Florida Statutes, was amended
during the 1981 Legislative Session to provide for an lncz~ase in
the amount of court costs to be assessed by counties~or
Justice education and training from $1.00 to $2.001 a~d ~ ~-'
increase in accordance with Section 943.25(8)(a} Flori~ States
{1981) ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, thatz
Section 1. Additional Court Cost; Use of Funds.
An additional court cost of Two Dollars ($2.00; shall be
assessed against every person convicted for violation of a state
penal or criminal statute or for viola'~ion of an ordinance of the
County of Collier, excluding violations of any state statute or
county ordinance relating to the parking of vehicles. Such funds
shal~be use~for criminal Justice education and training in
a.cj:ordance ~th' Section 943.25 (8) (a), Florida Statutes (1981).
S~ti0n 2. ~ Repealer.
'~ '~olli~_~:'.C0unty Ordinance 74-19 is hereby repealed.
Section 3. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon receipt of notice
that it has been filed with the Secretary of State.
