AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 77-19,
SECTION ONE, TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE LAWN SPRINKLING
REGULATIONS ALL OF THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF
COLLIER COUNTY; DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A WATER
SHORTAGE EMERGENCY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Collier County, Florida, is currently experiencing
a severe dry season, resulting in serious low pressure problems
throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, it is determined by the Board
Commissioners that an emergency situation exists;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION A. SECTION ONE of Ordinance No. 77-19 is amended to
expand the application of Ordinance No. 77-19 to all of the
unincorporated areas 'of Collier County, Florida, and shall read
as follows:
The following rules and regulations are hereby established
governing the use of potable water from the City of Naples' Water
System and from the Collier County Water System for lawn
sprinkling within the unincorporated areas of Collier County.
The County Utilities Manager is authorized to implement said
rules and regulations whenever he has received notice from the
Board of County Commissioners that facilities are inadequate to
meet demands, predicated upon a finding that said inadequate
facilities may affect the health, safety, welfare or comfort of
the citizens of Collier County. ", ~
Regulations: ---
1. Lawn sprinkling shall be permitted on Tuesday, Th~.~da~
and Saturday within the areas known as:~-' ~ ~

North of State Road 846 ( ~mmeka½ee-Rea~ David C.
.Brown Bighway}
~-. ~That portion of East Naples which is South of

~$outh of State Road 864 (Rattlesnake Hammock Road)
2. Lawn sprinkling shall be permitted on Monday, Wednesday,
and Friday within the areas North of State Road 90 (U.S. 41) and
South of State Road 846 (~mmoka}ee-Roed David C. Brown Highway,)
except the following areas: Seagate Subdivision, Vanderbilt
Beach, Naples Park, the areas South of State Road 864
(Rattlesnake Hammock Road), and the areas South of State Road 90
(U.S. 41).
3. For any other areas within the unincorporated area of
Collier County said lawn sprinklin~ restrictions may bs imposed
as recommended by the Utilities Manager and approved by
Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Collier
County, Florida.
SECTION B. This. Board does hereby declare that an emergency
exists and that immediate enactment of this Ordinance is
necessary, and by no less than four-fifths (4/5ths) vote of the
membership of the Board does hereby waive notice of intent to
consider this Ordinance.
A certified copy of this Ordinance, as enacted, shall be
filed by the Clerk of the Board with the Department of State of
the State of Florida, as soon after enactment as is practicable
by depositing the same with the postal authorities of the govern
ment of the United States for special delivery by certified mail,
postage prepaid, to the Florida Department of State.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon becoming law.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Collier County, Florida, this 8th day of May, 1984.
