NO. 86-30 BY AMENDING SECTION TWO, MEMBERSHIP;'.

~S, the Immokalee Airport Advisory Board was created by
~C~li~ounty Ordinance No. 86-30; and
W~;~AS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance
No. 86-41 which established standards and review procedures for
all County advisory boards, including the Immokalee Airport
Advisory Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
SECTION ONE. Amendments to Ordinance No. 86-30
1. Section 2 of Collier County Ordinance No. 86-30 is
hereby am-nded to read as follows:
Section 2. Membership
The Immokalee Airport Advisory Board, hereinafter
referred to as the "Advisory Board", shall be comprised of
five (5) members who shall be appointed by the Board of
County Commissioners, Collier County, Florida. Three (3) of
the members to be appointed shall be pilots or owners of
aviation related businesses at the Immokalee Airport. Their
selection shall be based on their experience and interest in
the fields of aviation. The remaining two (2) members to be
appointed may be lay persons who are interested in the
orderly development of the Immokalee area in relation to the
use(s) and development of the Airport. Each member shall
serve a term of two (2) years. A member may be reappointed
by the Board of CoLLnty Commissioners for one successive
term. Appointments to fill vacancies on the Advisory Board
shall be for the remainder of the unexpired term of office.
A quorum of the Advisory Board shall be comprised of

Members of the Advisory Board may be suspended and
removed from office with or without cause by the Board of

2. Section 5 of Collier County Ordinance No. 86-30 is
hereby amended to read as follows=
Section 5. ..Responsibilities
The Advisory Board shall be responsible for

The Advisory Board shall assist in orderly development of
the Airport through implementation of the Immokalee Airport
Master Plan and through the County's short and long term
goals and priorities. The Advisory Board shall encourage
and support projects which increase revenue to cover
maintenance and operation costs and future airport
development. In addition the Advisory Board shall provide
leadership necessary to insure community support, effective
management, and growth and stability of the Immokalee
Airport. The Advisory Board shall recommend media programs
which promote business opportunities and demonstrate the
economic importance and potential of the Airport. The
Advisory Board shall address special projects as may be
described by subsequent ordinances or resolutions.
The Advisory Board may adopt and amend "Guidelines" to
govern their operation, subject to approval by the Board of
County Commissioners.

SECTION TWO. CONFLICT AND SEVERABILITY
In the event this ordinance conflicts with any other
ordinance of Collier County or other applicable law, the more
restrictive shall apply. If any ~ection, subsection, sentence,
clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance is, for any reason,
held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent
Jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct
and independent provision of such holding and shall not affect
the validity of the remaining portion thereof.
SECTION THREE. Effective Date
ThLs Ordinance shall take effect upon receipt of notice from
the Secretary of State that this Ordinance has been filed with
the Secretary of State.
