BY ADOPTING THE SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE
CONGRESS INTERNATIONAL, INC.'s ST~_
SWIMMING POOL CODE 1991 EDITION AS FURTH~ql
AMENDED BY THIS ORDINANCE; REPEALING
ORDINANCE 87-21; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT AND
SEVERABILITY; AND BY PROVIDING AM EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the County is authorized to provide for the
?~ health, welfare and safety of its resident~ by enacting and
~. enforcing regulations necessary for the protection of the
~-i/' public including regulations regarding the construction of
i:~ swimming pools;
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that the
regulation of the construction of swimming pools is in the
interest of the residents of Collier County.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that:
SECTION ONEI ~DOPTION OF ST~NDARD SWIMMING POOL CODE
The Standard swimming Pool Code, 1991 Edition as published
by the Southern Building Code Congress International, Inc., and
as amended herein, is adopted by reference as the "Collier
County Standard swimming Pool Code" to protect the health,
safety, welfare, common interest, and convenience of the
citizens, visitors, and residents of Collier County, Florida.
SECTION TWO~ AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER ONE OF THE 1991 EDITION OF
THE STANDARD SWIMMING POOL CODE
Chapter One, entitled "Administration" shall be deleted in
its entirety and administration of this Code shall be in
accordance with Collier County Ordinance No. 91-56, as amended,
the Collier County Building Construction Administrative Code
which is incorporated herein by this reference.
SECTION THREE: CHAPTER TWO OF THE 1991 EDITION OF TH~ STANDARD
SWIMMING POOL CODE SHALL BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS~

SECTION FOUR: CHAPTER THREE OF THE 1991 EDITION OF THE
STA~DARD SWIMMINQ POOL CODE SHALL BE AMENDED AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 304.1, entitled "Conformance Standard" shall be

Approved manufactured inlet fittings for the return
of recirculated pool water shall be provided on the basis
of at least one two per 15,000 gal of pool capacity. Such
inlet fitting shall be designed and constructed to ensure
an adequate seal to the pool structure and shall
incorporate a convenient means of sealing for pressure
testing of the pool circulation piping. Where more than
one inlet is required the shortest distance between any
two required inlets shall be at least ~ ~ ft.
SECTION SIXZ REPEAL OF ORDINANCE NO. 87-21
Collier County Ordinance No. 87-21 is hereby repealed in
its entirety.
SECTION ~EVEN: CONFLICT AND SEVERABILITY
In the event this Ordinance conflicts with any other
ordinance of Collier County or other applicable law, the more
restrictive shall apply. If any phrase or portion of this

Ordinance is held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of
competent Jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a
separate, distinct, and independent provteion and such holding
shall~?ot affect the validity of the remaining portion.
SECTI.0N- EIOHTI EFFECTIVE DATE.
This Ordinance shall become effective upon receipt of
notice, from the Secretary of State that this Ordinance has been
filedew.ith the Secretary of State.
