RESOLUTION NO. 94- 460
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF LAND
IN FEE SIMPLE FOR THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROADWAY SIX-LANING OF GOLDEN
GATE PARKWAY FROM GOODLETTE-FRANK ROAD TO AIRPORT-
PULLING ROAD INCLUDING THE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
AT GOLDEN GATE PARKWAY AND GOODLETTE-FRANK ROAD AND
THE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT GOLDEN GATE PARKWAY AND
AIRPORT-PULLING ROAD.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners on October 26,
.
1993 adopted ordinance No. 93-78 and Resolution No. 93-493
..tablishing the 1993 (Fifth Annual) Capital Iaprovement Element
o~ the Growth Management Plan in order to establish priorities tor
the desiqn, acquisition and construction of the various capital
t.prov..ent projects which ~omprise the Transportation Element ot
the County'. Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the six-Ianing improvements to Golden Gate Parkway
trom Goodlette-Frank Road to Airport-Pulling Road including the
intersection i.provements at Golden Gate Parkway and
Goodlette-Frank Road and the intersection improvements at Golden
Gate Parkway and Airport-Pulling Road coaponent parts of the
Transportation EI..ent ot the County's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Board o~ County Commissioners on June 29, 1993
adopted Resolution No. 93-261 authorizing the County Statf to
acquire by gift or purchase certain easements and fee simple title
to the property and property interests required and necessary for
the siX-lane construction of Golden Gate Parkway trom
Goodlette-Frank Road to Airport-Pulling Road; and
WHEREAS, the County Statt has evaluated alternative
locations, reviewed the environmental factors, considered the cost
variables, and analyzed the safety and welfare considerations as
they relate to the construction ot the siX-lane improvements tor
Golden Gate Parkway from GOodlette-Frank Road to Airport-pulling
Road, including the inter.ection improvements at Golden Gate
Parkway and Goodlette-Frank Road and the intersection improvements
at Golden Gate Parkway and Airport-pulling Road; and
WHEREAS, the County Statt has recommended that it is

necessary and in the best interest of Collier County, Florida, to
acquire all of the road right-of-way required and necessary tor
the construction ot the six-Ianing ot Golden Gate Parkway trom
Goodlette-Frank Road to Airport-Pulling Road, including the
intersection i~rov..ents at Golden Gate Parkway and
Goodlette-Frank Road and the intersection improvements at Golden
Gate Parkway and Airport-Pulling Road in fee simple; and
WHEREAS, the construction ot the six-Ianing of Golden Gate
Parkway tram Coodlette-Frank Road to Airport-Pulling Road and the
intersection improvements is necessary in order to protect the
health, satety and weltare ot the citizens ot Collier County and
is in the best interest of Collier County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COKMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that it has been
determined by the Board that the construction of the six-Ianing of
Colden Gate Parkway fram Coodlette-Frank Road to Airport-Pulling
Road and the intersection improvements at Golden Gate Parkway and
Goodlette-Frank Road and the intersection improvements at Golden
Cate Parkway and Airport-Pulling Road (hereinafter referred to as
"the Project") is necessary for a public purpose and is in the
best interests of Collier County.
AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board reviewed the Staft
analysis regarding alternative locations, environmental tactors,
cost variables, satety and welfare considerations as they relate
to the construction ot the Project and find~ that the most
teasible locations for the additional road ~ight-ot-way are
identitied as Parcel Nos. 103 and 104, more particularly described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein; and
AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that to implement said
construction of the Project it is appropriate and necessary for
the Board to acquire tee simple title in the lands identitied as
Parcel Nos. 103 and 104, being more particularly described in
Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein, to be used

as road right-of-way tor the construction of the six-lane
improvements to Colden Gate Parkway trom GOodlette-Frank Road to
Airport-Pulling Road, including intersection improvements at
Colden Gate Parkway and Goodlette-Frank Road and Golden Gate
Parkway and Airport-Pulling Road.
AND IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the County staft is hereby
authorized to i..ediately acquire by gitt, purchase or
COndemnation in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 73, 74
and 127, Florida Statute., fee simple title to the property
identitied a. Parcel Nos. 103 and l04 and being more particularly
described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein.
AND IT IS FURTHER RESotVED that no mobile homes are located
on the property sought to be acquired and there tore it will not be
necessary to r"ove any mobile homes tram the property to be
acquired.
