RESOLUTION NO. 95-~8
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING A CHANGE IN THE NAME OF
THE ORGANIZATION DESIGNATED TO FULFILL
REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 265.32, FLCRIDA
STATUTES, FROM THE NAPLES FINE ARTS SOCIETY,
INC. TO THE UNITED ARTS COUNCIL OF COLLIER
COUNTY, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners on April 24,
1984, adopted Resolution No. 84-81 appointing the Naples Fine
Arts Society, Inc. to serve as the organization which would
perform the requirements of Section 265. J 2 I Flor:lda statutes;
and
WHEREAS, The Council was empowered to:
a. stimulate greater governmental and public awaroness and
appreciation of the importance of the arts to the
people of Florida.
b. Encourage and facilitate greater and more efficient use
of governmental and private resourcos for the
development and support of the arts.
c. Encourage and facilitate opportunities for Florida
residents to participate in artistic activities.
d.
Promote the development of Florida
institutions, community organizations
activities, and audiences.

e. Survey and assess the needs of the arts, a,rtists, arts
institutions, community organizations spcmsoring arts
activities, and people of the State relating to the
arts.
f. Support and facilitate the preservation .,nd growth of
the state's artistic resources.
g. Serve the citizens of the County and State in the realm
of the arts; and
WHEREAS, the Organization has changed its name from the
Naples Fine Arts Society, Inc. to the United Arts C'Juncil of
Collier County, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the ;-..:.:::.e has been changed on the corplJration
documents; and
WHEREAS, throughout the change, the organizati'Jn has
remained a not-for-profit corporation with the same matching
goals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Naples Fine

Arts Society, Inc. hae changed their name to the United Arts
Council of Collier County, Inc., and remains -the official
representative of Collier County to promote the fine arts in
Collier County and to obtain State and Federal funding through
grant applications when such grants become availablf!.
