RESOLUTION NO. 95- 200
A RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SUPPORTING THE CURRENT
ALLOCATION OF KOTOR FUEL REVENUE TO
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND
IMPROVEMENT OF THE STATE ROAD SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, is vitally concerned with the operation, maintenance and
improvement of State Roads in Southwest Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation, District
One has historically allocated revenues to Counties in Southwest
Florida on a lair-share pro-ration ot revenues collected; and
WHEREAS; the Florida Transportation Plan has been developed
as a visionary document for transportation through the year 2020;
and
WHEREAS, during the period through the year 2020, the Florida
Department of Transportation, District One will grow at a greater
rate than the State as a whole, which suggests that District One
will need and should receive at least the proportional amount of
revenue contributed to the Florida Department of Transportation;
and
WHEREAS, there are concerns that any redistribution of
revenues to District One in the future may unfairly create a
comparative heavier taxpayer burden in District One.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. The Board urges the Collier County Legislative Delegation
to maintain existing legislation and pOlicies which allocates
revenues to contributors to the greatest degree possible.
2. The Florida LegiSlature quantify the long-term results of
any new legislation which could re-allocate transportation
revenues and determine the economic effects of such legislation on
a District basis prior to consideration of implementing such
legiSlation.

4. The Board does hereby designate this effort as a top
priority project and hereby directs its staff to provide such
support as is necessary, in accordance with this priority
