RESOLUTION NO. 95--111
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER OF THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AS LIAISON TO
THE COLLIER COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD
WHEREAS, various local government entities and districts
within the boundaries of Collier County inter-relate and
inter-act on a regular basis; and
WHEREAS, such local government entities and districts
often share common goals and interests and often deal with
similar challenges relating to efficiency, administration,
funding, growth and operational considerations; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County School Board and the Board of
County Commissioners often share similar or related goals,
interests, challenges and concerns and it is in the best
interests of both entities and the citizens of Collier County
that the Board of County Commissioners and the Collier County
School Board communicate and cooperate on matters of mutual
interest, benefit and concern; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined
that in order to foster such cooperation and communication, a
liaison from the Board of County Commissioners to the Collier
County School Board should be appointed and should periodically
report to the full Board of County Commissioners regarding any
matters of mutual interest, particularly those matters which
should be scheduled for consideration by the Board.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:
1. Commissioner Timothy L. Hancock is hereby appointed
as liaison to the Collier County School Board and shall meet
with the School Board or individual members of the School Board
at such times and for such purposes as deemed appropriate by
said Commissioner.
2. Said commissioner shall periodically report to the
Board of County Commissioners regarding matters
of mutual
interest between the Board of County Commissioners and the
School Board.

Said commissioner shall not be authorized,
however,
to act or render decisions on behalf of the Board of County
commissioners. All final decisions or actions shall be taken
only after full consideration by the Board of County
Commissioners at a regular or special meeting after due public
notice.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and majority
vote favoring same.
