RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER
COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF ROAD
RIGHT-OF-WAY, UTILITY, DRAINAGE AND MAINTENANCE EASEMENTS,
TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENTS OR FEE SIMPLE TITLE BY GIFT
OR PURCHASE, WHICH ACQUISITIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE WIDENING
IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. 41 AND VANDERBILT
BEACH ROAD.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, on October 26, 1993,
adopted Ordinance 93-78 and Resolution 93-493 therein establishing the
1993 (Fifth Annual) capital Improvement Element of the Growth
Management Plan in order to establish priorities for the design,
right-of-way acquisition and construction of the various capital
improvement projects which comprise the Transportation Element of the
County's Comprehensive Plan, and of which Plan the four-laning
improvements to the Vanderbilt Beach Road Project (commencing at the
Gulf of Mexico and terminating at junction U.S. 41, approximately 1.4
ailes) are component parts; and
WHEREAS, on January 4, 1994, the Board of County Commissioners
amended the planned right-of-way acquisitions by limiting the scope of
the right-of-way acquisitions to junction U.S. 41 and Vanderbilt Beach
Road, (hereinafter referred to as the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, it has been deemed necessary for the design and
construction to acquire additional road right-of-way, utility, drainage
and aaintenance easements, temporary construction easements or fee
s!.ple title for the completion of the widening improvements for
junction U.S. 41 at Vanderbilt Beach Road. The design maximizes the
use of existing right-of-way and minimizes the need to acquire
additional .right-of-way. The construction of the intersection
!.proveaents at U.S. ;1 and Vanderbilt Beach Road may minimize traffic
congestion and safety hazards; and
