Dear Commissioners:
I am submitting the budget certification for fiscal year 2027 in the amount of$285,682,800 to fund the services provided by the
Collier County Sheriffs Office including Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Court Security as required by F.S. Chapter
30.49(2)(a).
This budget request meets budget guidance as established by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners set on
March 10,2026. Our budget for fiscal year 2027 represents a 3%increase over our fiscal year 2026 budget.
The dedication and commitment of the professional men and women of the Collier County Sheriffs Office enables us to
provide needed services for the community. As challenges continue in the recruitment and retention of our vital members, it is
imperative that we remain competitive in the employment market and address increases in the cost of living.
We have been able to maintain a high level of service to our community despite rising costs we all are experiencing in our
operations. Technology is a significant factor for our mission and staying at the forefront of ever-changing technological
advancements results in increases to our budget.As in past years,we have applied a priority based approach to our fiscal
year 2027 budget that features participation of the complete range of agency members from our essential line of deputies
through our executive level and to me as Sheriff.We again performed a rigorous review of programs, projects, contracts, and
costs to prioritize what we need to operate efficiently and effectively and support our mission of public safety.This process has
insured that we are being fiscally responsible and good stewards of taxpayer funds.
We continue to provide excellence in service and programs for our youth, citizens and visitors who enjoy this beautiful County.
We are holding the line on crime in our community and report one of the lowest crimes rates in the entire state. In fact, our
crime rate is the lowest it has been since recording of crimes per population began in 1971.
On behalf of the Collier County Sheriff's Office, I would like to thank you for your ongoing and continuing support of public
safety. The quality of life and levels of safety in our community is unique, revered and expected by our residents and visitors.
It is an integral part of what makes Collier County a great place and a safe place.
