4/28/2026 Item # 16.E.2 ID# 2026-904 Executive Summary Recommendation to accept the report for the sale of one hundred and two items and the disbursement of funds in the amount of $276,150 associated with the County surplus auction held December 11 through December 13, 2025. OBJECTIVE: To present the results of the recent Collier County surplus auction to the Board of County Commissioners. CONSIDERATIONS: On December 9, 2025 (Agenda Item 16.E.3), the Board authorized staff to conduct a surplus auction to dispose of County-owned property that was obsolete, uneconomic, inefficient, and served no further useful purpose to County operating Divisions to generate revenue. The County’s contracted auctioneer, Royal Auction Group, Inc., held the auction from December 11 through 13, 2025. Staff is recommending that revenue/proceeds associated with distinct legal entities such as the County Water-Sewer District, the Airport Authority, and Municipal Service Taxing Units be credited to their appropriate fund accounts and that pursuant to 49 U.S.C. 5334(h)(4), the net revenue from the sale of transit assets funded by the Federal Transit Administration be credited in accordance with the Office of Management and Budget grant procedures. Staff further recommends that all other revenue/proceeds be credited to the General Fund and the Motor Pool Capital Replacement fund, as appropriate. This item is consistent with the Collier County strategic plan objective to safeguard taxpayer money by promoting fiscal stewardship and sound budget oversight. FISCAL IMPACT: Under this contract, the County is not charged with an auctioneer's commission. Instead, a buyer's premium was applied to the final bid. The December auction generated $276,150 in revenue back to the County. Please see the above information for the breakdown of revenues. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this auction.
