Backup Documents 04/14/2026 Item # 4APROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the 9-1-1 telecommunicators of the Collier County Sheriffs Offlce are the first responders providing the vital link between the citizens of Collier County and emergency response; and WHEREAS, they are the caring, calming voice sending help to those in need during times of distress, providing vital pre -arrival instructions until help arrives; and WHEREAS, in 2025, they answered 143,521 9-1-1 calls as well as 221,518 non -emergency calls; and WHEREAS, the radio telecommunicators are vital to ensure the timely dispatch of calls for service and the safety of responders by relaying critical information while accurately tracking activity and monitoring millions of radio transmissions; and WHEREAS, they have a direct impact on saving the lives of Collier County residents, earning both Life Save and Phoenix awards for guiding callers through CPR, successfully leading to the survival of those individuals; and WHEREAS, the 65 full-time public safety telecommunicators are truly dedicated to the citizens of Collier County and its first responders and work tirelessly to ensure that every caller receives expeditious, caring help; NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, that April 12 —18, 2026, be designated as NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK DONE AND ORDERED THIS 14th Day of April 2026.
