WHEREAS, the American Red Cross has provided compassionate care to those in need for more
than 145 years, responding to emergencies and helping families prevent, prepare for,
and recover from disasters; and
WHEREAS, March is nationally recognized as American Red Cross Month, a time to honor the
dedication of volunteers, blood donors, supporters, and partners who make the
organization's humanitarian mission possible; and
WHEREAS, the American Red Cross serves Collier County by delivering shelter, food, financial
assistance, and emotional support to individuals and families affected by home fires and
other disasters; and
WHEREAS, the American Red Cross helps ensure a safe and reliable blood supply for patients
facing serious medical conditions, surgeries, childbirth complications, cancer
treatments, and traumatic injuries; and
WHEREAS, the American Red Cross supports members of the United States Armed Forces,
veterans, and their families through emergency communications and 24/7 global
assistance; and
WHEREAS, through programs such as CPR, first aid, and disaster preparedness training, the
American Red Cross empowers residents of Collier County with lifesaving skills that
strengthen community resilience, and
WHEREAS, the humanitarian mission of the American Red Cross depends on the generosity of
volunteers and donors who give their time and resources to serve neighbors in times of
crisis, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizes the vital contributions of the American
Red Cross and its volunteers in safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of Collier
County residents,
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that March 2026 be designated as
AMERICAN RED CROSS MONTH
DONE AND ORDERED THIS loth Day of March 2026.
