Executive Summary
Recommendation to reappoint Jack Bonzelaar to the Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint Jack Bonzelaar to the Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee.
CONSIDERATIONS: The Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee is a five-member committee
created on November 28, 2006, by Ordinance 2006-60, to aid and assist the Board of County Commissioners in carrying
out the purposes of the MSTU, to prepare and recommend an itemized budget, and to recommend work programs and
priorities. Members are to be appointed from different parcels, subdivisions and/or communities within the MSTU.
Terms are four years. A list of the current membership is included in the backup.
There is one vacant seat and one expiring seat on this Board. The vacancies were advertised, and one application was
received from the following:

ATTENDANCE: During the past year, Mr. Bonzelaar has had perfect attendance. An attendance roster is included in
the backup.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on February 09, 2026, the committee voted to recommend that
the Board reappoint Jack Bonzelaar to the committee, to a four-year term expiring March 13, 2030. A recommendation
memo is included in the backup. The remaining vacancy will continue to be advertised.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for Board
approval. – JAK
RECOMMENDATION(S): That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee Recommendation and
authorizes the Chair to execute the attached resolution confirming the reappointment.

approve the reappointment application of the following member:

After a brief discussion by the committee, the committee approved conilrmation olthe member
identified above.
Section VI of Ordinance 06-60, Sub-section b outlines the qualifications to be a committee
member. Mr. Jack Bonzelaar is a permanent resident within the MSTU.

RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - _____
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, REAPPOINTING JACK BONZELAAR TO
THE HALDEMAN CREEK DREDGING MAINTENANCE ADVISORY
COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 2006-60 established the Haldeman Creek
Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee to assist the Board of County Commissioners in
carrying out the purposes of the Haldeman Creek Dredging Municipal Service Taxing Unit
(MSTU); and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2006-60, as amended, provides that this Advisory Committee
shall be composed of five members who reside within and generally represent the MSTU; and
WHEREAS, there is a vacant seat and one expiring seat on this Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners previously provided public notice
soliciting applications from interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Committee has provided the Board of County Commissioners
with its recommendation for reappointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that JACK BONZELAAR is hereby
reappointed to his seat on the Haldeman Creek Dredging Maintenance Advisory Committee, to a
four-year term expiring March 13, 2030.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED after majority vote on the 10th day of March 2026.
