•The proposed ordinance complies with all FDEP requirements and protects
the health and safety of our personnel, our infrastructure, the general public,
and the environment
•The Board previously adopted Industrial Pretreatment Ordinance 2003-18 on
April 23, 2003, and amended ordinance 2012-13 on March 27, 2012

BACKGROUND
•FDEP staff recommended revising the
ordinance to comply with new federal
regulations governing dental amalgam
and hazardous pharmaceutical wastes
•Organization of the ordinance was
restructured to more closely align with
EPA’s Model Pretreatment Ordinance
•Fees were updated to match the
Division’s current cost of implementing
the Industrial Pretreatment program

CONSIDERATIONS
To direct the County Attorney to advertise and bring back for a public hearing an
Ordinance repealing and replacing Ordinance No. 2012-13, the Collier County
Industrial Pretreatment Ordinance, to incorporate FDEP-recommended ordinance
revisions to the industrial pretreatment program, required by FDEP permits
FLA141399 and FL0141356.
