WHEREAS, economic development is essential to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of
Collier County by supporting job creation, encouraging private investment, and
strengthening a resilient and diversified local economy; and
WHEREAS, economic development in Collier County is supported through a public-private partnership
between Collier County and the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce in the Partnership
for Collier's Future Economy; and
WHEREAS, Collier County's economic development efforts focus on business retention and expansion,
workforce development, entrepreneurship, and strategic industry growth to ensure long-
term economic sustainability and community prosperity; and
WHEREAS, strong partnerships between local government, educational institutions, workforce
organizations, businesses, and community stakeholders are critical to building a skilled
workforce, attracting investment, and supporting existing employers; and
WHEREAS, economic development professionals in Collier County work to support local businesses,
facilitate industry growth, connect employers to talent, and create pathways for residents to
access quality jobs and career opportunities; and
WHEREAS, these efforts contribute to a strong, competitive, and resilient economy that benefits
residents,businesses, and future generations; and
WHEREAS, Florida Economic Development Week is recognized annually to honor the work of
economic development professionals and organizations and to highlight the importance of
economic development in building vibrant,inclusive, and sustainable communities;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County,
Florida, that February 16—20, 2026 be designated as
FLORIDA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WEEK
