Yes If yes, please list the boards / committees: Conservation Collier Please list your community activities and positions held: Board Member Education: Bachelors of Science Experience / Background: Bachelors of Science Applicant Supplemental Information Applicant Name: Oriany Brito Representation of Interests: Please explain your relationship with and business interests relating to the following topics. • Environmental and Conservation: I have a passion for conservation as well as a lifelong interest in maintaining and enhancing our native wildlife. I have been an active volunteer in Naples for many years; volunteering in beach clean-ups, assisting in the Von Arx Center of Conservation, and supporting eco-friendly businesses/causes. I have lived in the rural estates for fifteen years and want to do all that I can to help preserve our wildlife and their habitat. • Agricultural and Business: I am a Naples realtor and although my occupation is in the selling of real estate, my focus is conserving our land for years to come. Our town has become a high -demand destination for tourists thanks to the peace, tranquility, and beauty our wildlife and nature offers. It is our duty to ensure the beauty of SWFL is preserved. • Educational: My family, friends, and I regularly attend and support proactive nature establishments such as the Picayune Strand State Forest, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Rookery Bay Swamp, Conservancy of SWFL, Shy Wolf Sanctuary, and more. The more we learn about our native wildlife and plants, the more we can educate others on invasive and native species. This knowledge and awareness help to promote the healthy growth and expansion of our local species. There is even greater value in understanding the animals we can expect to encounter and how to safely cohabitate with them. I always provide educational booklets to all clients to encourage the admiration of wildlife in a safe way so there is never a need to re -zone our animals. • General Civic and Citizen: I attend town meetings and am an avid promoter of current topics and events held in our local government to encourage awareness and education in preservation among locals. There is always more to learn about changes in governance, policies, and zoning that affect our wildlife. It is our duty as locals to stay involved and educated so we can be a positive voice for the animals who cannot speak for themselves. Individual Member Expertise, Knowledge or Interest: Please elaborate on any experience, knowledge or interest you have in the following subjects. • Ecology: Specialists in ecology should be highly leveraged in the development of Naples to ensure crucial species are protected to assist against natural disasters and mass development. The delicate balance between species and their populations can help aid in water purification, flood control, and pollination that will benefit the environment and our communities. • CnnsPrvatinn- Naples heavily relies on the conservation of our coastal and wetland ecosystems. It is imperative that our community works to maintain the balance between development and environmental preservation for not only the sake of our wildlife, but our tourism as well. Promoting sustainable development, education, and outdoor recreation will help create a fonder relationship between man and nature, creating a stronger feeling of responsibility for our environment. • Real Estate or Land Acquisition: I am an active Realtor who consistently attends NABOR events and classes based around our changing demographics, real estate law, and the proper transfer of real estate. This expertise and support in real estate needs can assist the board and our community in several ways. This includes continuous in-depth analysis of the market, negotiation skills, due diligence, and continuous community engagement. I would be able to enhance the committee's ability to identify, acquire, and manage land for conservation purposes. I could also help provide insights into financial aspects of land acquisition such as property value, financing options, funding sources, and budgeting. • Land Appraisal: I do not have extensive knowledge of land appraisals but have reputable contacts as resources. • Land Management: Land in Naples, FL is unique and should be treated as such. Land management is one of the building blocks in maintaining and increasing the beauty and value that Naples provides. Environmental considerations such as flood control, stormwater management, recreational opportunities, historical sites, wildlife restoration, and mitigation of invasive species are all large contributing factors in the quality -of -life Naples offers. • Fcn-Tnurism- Naples has a huge opportunity in eco-tourism by embracing sustainable tourism practices, leveraging its strong community, and continuing to encourage conservation efforts. Economic incentives such as wildlife watching, nature tours, and water activities provide an incentive for the preservation of wildlife habitats. By doing so, our community can continue to benefit from the positive impacts that eco-tourism provides while preserving Naples' natural and cultural heritage. • Environmental Education: Environmental education allows our community to unite in preservation through educational practices that are provided through sanctuaries, educational signage across our beaches, state parks, and more. These important insights help visitors to gain further insights into local ecosystems, wildlife, and conservation challenges, fostering a sense of responsibility for the environment.
