HAPB Minutes 11/21/2025 (draft)November 21, 2025 Page 1 COLLIER COUNTY HISTORIC/ARCHAEOLOGICAL PRESERVATION BOARD COMMITTEE MEETING Friday, November 21, 2025 LET IT BE REMEMBERED, the Collier County Historical Archaeological Preservation Board, in and for the County of Collier, having conducted business herein, met on this date at 10:00 A.M. in REGULAR SESSION in following people were present: Chairman: Zachary Burke Henry (Hank) Sentowski Rachel Hansel Cindy Carroll Janice O’Connell Elizabeth Perdicizzi Barry O’Brien Laura Burke (absent) ALSO PRESENT: Ray Bellows, Collier County Planning and Zoning Amanda Towsend, Collier County Historical Society Ana Nunez, Collier County Historical Society November 21, 2025 Page 2 Any persons wishing to appeal any decision made by this Board with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. 1. ROLL CALL A quorum was established with 5 Board Members Laura Burke is a new member but was unable to attend this meeting 2. ADDENDA TO AGENDA Add dates of minutes to Item #4 of July 18, August 15, October 17 Motion to add the dates by Janice O’Connell; Seconded by Hank Sentowski – Passed Unanimously 3. OLD BUSINESS None 6. NEW BUSINESS a. Site tour of Marco Island Historical Museum moved to Item #9b 7. REVIEW OF PROJECT AND ACTIVITY LOG Amanda Townsend, Collier County Historical Society • January, there will be a grand reopening Naples Depot Museum • Friends of the Museum received a $400,000 grant from the State for the Black History Baggage Car Project • Construction will start Dec. 1 for the 90 - 120 days project to make the car habitable • Immokalee Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch is under construction of the Garden and Grove Project with ribbon cutting in January or February November 21, 2025 Page 3 • The temporary garden produced over 3,000 pounds of food for the community • Winn Dixie in Immokalee closed • Collier Museum at Government Center welcomed the Veterans History Museum with a lease of our lecture hall and traveling gallery space with grand opening Veteran’s Day • The Cat, which is 1000-1500 years old is going back in April • The Museum of the Everglades has an exhibit called Sharing the Path about the use of indigenous knowledge in land planning, stewardship and conservation, etc. • Our grant, our contract is reinstated. There was a change in County purchasing policy that allows us to have an informal competition which will speed up the bidding process to 45 days instead of 6 months • Roberts Ranch will be hosting bead making • At the branch we have a great exhibit by the photographer Lissette d’ Morales of East Naples Aztec dancers 8. PUBLIC COMMENTS None 9. HAPB COMMENTS Rachael Hansel is leaving the Board and moving out of State Next meeting scheduled for January 23, 2026, at Horseshoe Dr. Item #9b.
