OBJECTIVE: To purchase & install an emergency generator at the Immokalee Regional Airport (IMM). CONSIDERATIONS: On June 11, 2024, Agenda Item 16.G.3, the Board of County Commissioners (the "Board"), sitting as the Collier County Airport Authority (Authority), accepted a Public Transportation Grant Agreement (PTGA) 453536-1-94-01, Contract No. G2Y90, with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the amount of $159,280 for the Purchase and Installation of an Emergency Generator at the Immokalee Regional Airport. The estimated project budget was $199,100. The project is currently in procurement to begin the advertisement for the bidding process. However, the most recent engineer's estimate of cost shows a substantial price escalation since the original grant acceptance. An additional proposed amendment provides an additional six months to the current expiration date of December 31, 2025. A budget amendment is being prepared to cover the additional local funds. A resolution is also required. This item is consistent with the Collier County Strategic Plan under Responsible Governance and safeguarding the taxpayer money by promoting fiscal stewardship and sound budget oversight. In addition, under Infrastructure and Asset Management, to develop and utilize partnerships to ensure that government facilities meet public expectation. FISCAL IMPACT: A budget amendment is required to recognize additional grant revenue in the amount of $56,720 in Airport Grant Fund 4093, Project 33914; the funding source is FDOT via the PTGA agreement. This grant amendment requires a twenty percent (20%) local match amount of $14,180. Budget amendments are also required to transfer funds from Airport Capital Fund (4091) to Airport Match Fund (4094), Project 33914; the funding source is revenue generated from fuel sales. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This item is consistent with Section B: Intermodal & Multimodal Transportation, Subsection 2: Aviation of the Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan.
