Fire, EMS, CCSO & area Hospitals conducted a full-scale Active Shooter exercise on June 4rh. b. Fire Chiefs working with CCSO & CCPS on a proposal to BOCC for replacement of the 800 MHz Public Safety radio system. c. All Departments are in hurricane preparedness mode. d. The LMS working grou p tast met on )uly 18,2025, attended by 15 peopte, and no one f rom the pubtic. c. A mitigation project for South Florida Water Management District was determined ineligible by the state. The project was ultimately funded by the agency in house. d. There was a Red Tide discussion, and there was a proposal to have Mote Laboratory come and give a presentation on mitigation projects to address this hazard. i. There was also mention of some changes needed to the red tide section ofthe hazard and risk assessment. e. There have been 2 resignations: i. Naples Airport Authority ii. Jim von Rinteln (retiring) iii. Active participation was discussed, and Amy will be exploring a virhral option to possibly encourage more participation. f. The committee Chair and Vice Chair positions will be voted in at the next meeting on October 17, 2025 i. JeffWeir nominated by the County Managers office for Chair position ii. William Lang is stepping down as Chair but will continue to serve as Vice Chair for continuity. g. Inquired about past training videos done in conjunction with the Counf on boater safety and how to secure vessels during storms. b. With the large influx ofnew citizens to the County, especially those from land-locked parts ofthe country, or those parts that do not experience stoms, the benefit offinding these training recordings and presenting them to new citizens would be beneficial. Salvation Armv: (reDort Drovided bv Captain Will Conlev) a. TSA working with the Southern Baptist. Captain Conley has been working on a committee within this organization to help mobilize mass feeding coordination with other providers in the State. 2.) Individual Reports: b. Working on two large projects to help the community be stronger. Incident command center (fully operational generator needed). Partnering with lmmokalee F'air llousing Alliance to open a TSA location in Immokalee. c. ln February, TSA's lmmokalee localion will have prekindergarten, before care and after care for students. d. TSA working with Southern Baptist on trainings together for emotional and spiritual care. 3.) United Way: (provided by Ashlev Jones) a. The next Votunteer Management Committee meeting witt be hetd on Thursday, July 31 ,2025,from 10:00-1 1:00 AM at the United Way of Cottier and the Keys office in Naptes. b. On Friday, July 17th, United Way of Collier and the Keys (UWCK) proudly participated in the Disaster Ready Collier County (DRCC) Hunicane Exercise. c. Visit VolunteerUWCK.org to register as an individual or organization and explore volunteer opportunities that align with your passions. d. Under the Community Resiliency Innovation Grant, United Way of Collier and the Keys is developing a comprehensive series of 20 Disaster Resilience Training Modules aimed at enhancing Iocal preparedness and response capacity. 4.) DOH-No additional updates 5.) ARES- (reported provided Liz Appling) a. ln the process of making sure we have communications capabilities should a serious storm arise. b. Has their hunicane plan ready to be put into action. This includes hourly nets and deployment ofvolunteers to different county locations. c. Currently working on the 2-meter Repeater as they are not satisfied with the receiver performance of the radio. d. Discussed having speakers from the Citizens Corp speak at the ARESCC monthly meetings. Discussion took place with UWCK, Salvation Army, Emergency Management and DRCC on speaking at an upcoming meeting. Meetings take place on the 1't Wednesday ofeach month. The presentations should be l5-20 minutes; meetings take place at Veteran's Park and breakfast is provided. 6.) CERT: (Report emailed from Barry Gerenstein (absent)) a. Collier County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) CERT program: i. CCSO, even though new to the CERT program, is diligently recruiting and training new members. ii. Their next training session will be held at the Village Walk Town Center on 8 consecutive Monday evenings starting on September 22nd. iii. On September 12th at the Annual Day of Service Summit guest speakers from CERT organizations nationwide will be present to explain and encourage CERT membership. CCSO is doing an amazing job in getting citizens involved in CERT. b. Greater Naples Fire-Rescue (GNFR): i. Continue to train new and existing members to help them serve their communities. Each team has held a Hurricane Seminar for their communities to educate the residents. They also distribute information to their residents via community websites, and bulk emails. ii. The teams conduct monthly meetings that include training in all aspects ofthe CEKI'mission. iii. Verona Walk CERI'was honored to have Amy Howard give a fantastic "what to do before, during, and after" the hurricane seminar. iv. Verona Walk CERT now has radio communications belween Naples Reserve, Winding Cypress and themselves. This is a big plus if mutual aid is needed. 7.) DRCC:rt ror ided Ashl Maher a. DRCC completed its first exercise on July l7'l', connection issues with ICOC. Those issues have since been resolved. b. DRCC is beginning to transition to fully volunteer led organizatiodcoalition. c. Mina Merkel was brought in by CCF to assist with workshops for identifuing leadership for each ofthe workgroups of DRCC. This workshop will take place on September I lfr at the Collier Community Foundation from I pm-4pm. Additional Updates: - The second Annual Day of Service event will take place on September lz'h,2025, at the Naples Grande Hotel. The event is being led by CCSO, volunteers requested should go through UWCK. Allvolunteers working at the event will require a level 2 background check. This information must be submitted to CCSO as soon as possible. - Naple's 7'h Day Adventist representation at the meeting. lnformation was provided that they have a youth pathfinder club, mobile feeding capabilities, the church has a chuck wagon and radio and HAM radio license available for emergency response.
