Executive Summary
Recommendation to reappoint two members to the Vanderbilt Waterway Municipal Service Taxing Unit Advisory
Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint two members to the Vanderbilt Waterway Municipal Service Taxing Unit Advisory
Committee, each to a four-year term expiring on February 12, 2029.
CONSIDERATIONS: This five-member committee was created on December 11, 2018, by Ordinance No. 18-64, to
assist the Board of County Commissioners in carrying out the purposes of the MSTU of providing for dredging and
maintenance of the Vanderbilt Waterway between the Bluebill Bridge and the Cocohatchee River within the boundaries
of the MSTU. The committee will prepare and recommend an itemized budget to the Board of County Commissioners
and recommend work programs and priorities in accordance with the adopted budget. Members must be permanent
residents within the MSTU. Terms are 4 years.
There are two vacant seats on this committee which expired on February 12, 2025. The vacancies were advertised, and
the following applications were received:

ATTENDANCE: During the past two years, Mr. Cuny has missed no meetings, and Mr. Burke has had one excused
absence.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its meeting on October 9, 2025, the committee voted unanimously to
recommend that the Board reappoint Mr. Cuny and Mr. Burke to their respective seats on the committee, each to a four-
year term which will expire on February 12, 2029. A recommendation email is included in the backup.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for Board
approval. - JAK
RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee Recommendation and
authorizes the Chair to execute the attached resolution confirming the reappointments.

appointment to the VanderbiLt Waterway MSTU Advisory Committee.
ln accordance with Resotution No. 2006-83, the appticants meet the criteria to be etigibte for re-
appointment, such as permanent residency and acceptabte attendance. The advisory committee
voted unanimousty on October 9, 2025, in favor of the reappointment of Ctint Cuny as President

RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - _____
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, REAPPOINTING CLINT CUNY AND
THOMAS BURKE TO THE VANDERBILT WATERWAY MUNICIPAL
SERVICE TAXING UNIT ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, on December 11, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) adopted
Ordinance No. 2018-64, which established the Vanderbilt Waterway Municipal Service Taxing
Unit (MSTU) to provide dredging services for Vanderbilt Waterway; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2018-64 also created the Vanderbilt Waterway Municipal
Service Taxing Unit Advisory Committee (Committee) to assist the Board in carrying out the
MSTU in accordance with the Ordinance, and structured the Committee to have five members,
who generally represent the area within the MSTU; and
WHEREAS, there are two vacant seats on the Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Board previously provided public notice soliciting applications from
interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has provided the Board with its recommendation for
reappointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that CLINT CUNY and THOMAS
BURKE, as residents of the MSTU, are each hereby reappointed to the Vanderbilt Waterway
Municipal Service Taxing Unit Advisory Committee to serve four-year terms expiring on February
12, 2029.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED upon majority vote on this the 28th day of October, 2025.
