WHEREAS, Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) was founded on October 1, 1965, in
response to the urgent need for childcare among farmworker families in Florida's Redlands
farming community; and
WHEREAS, RCMA has developed a mission to serve Florida's most vulnerable children and families,
particularly those of farm -working and rural communities; and
WHEREAS, over the past 60 years, RCMA has grown into Florida's largest nonprofit provider of early
childhood education and one of the state's most respected charter school operators, now
serving more than 4,300 children and families across 18 counties; and
WHEREAS, RCMA is committed to creating brighter futures for children and families in low-income
rural communities through high -quality education, wraparound support services, and
advocacy that uplifts the voices of agricultural workers and underserved populations; and
WHEREAS, RCMA has earned national recognition for its educational excellence and innovative
approach to addressing barriers to learning such as poverty, housing insecurity, and
language access; and
WHEREAS, the impact of RCMA is deeply felt in Collier County, where its local centers and programs
support working parents, prepare children for success in school and in life, and build
stronger communities through education and empowerment; and
WHEREAS, October 1, 2025, marks the 60th anniversary of RCMA's founding, a milestone that
celebrates the tireless work of staff, families, and supporters who have made RCMA a
beacon of hope and opportunity for generations;
NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida,
that October 1, 2025, be designated as
REDLANDS CHRISTIAN MIGRANT ASSOCIATION 60TH ANNIVERSARY
