Board Direction from March 11, 20251 BCC Meeting
• Examine operations and profitability for the previous (10) years
• Question: original funding source to purchase Everglades Airpark and if
there were any known title restrictions
• Engage the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Florida Department
of Transportation (FD OT) to identify grantor requirements and obligations
associated with deactivation.
• Determine steps required to return the Everglades Airpark (XO 1) to the
National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) as a "Basic" airport eligible
for FAA -Airport Improvement Program (AIP) annual entitlement grants of
$150,000.

• A Pancake Breakfast fly -in was held on Saturday, July 26th

Aircraft T- Hangar Storage Building Repair Status
• Facilities is reworking the Plans and Specifications to include "Wet
Floodproofing" attributes. This allows the flood waters to enter in and out of
the facility with minimal damage. The design changes and the resubmittal of
the permit should be completed in September 2025.
• Estimated cost of repairs = $1,293,500.
• Permit approval and the solicitation submittal are expected in October 2025.
• The solicitation should be out for bids in the spring of 2026 and Notice to
Proceed (NTP) is anticipated to be issued in August 2026 with the
construction to be completed before the end of the 2026 calendar year.
