Executive Summary
Recommendation to convey a utility easement to Lee County Electric Cooperative, Inc., at the Immokalee Regional
Airport to provide electric service to a long-term tenant’s commercial aircraft hangars.
OBJECTIVE: To convey a utility easement to Lee County Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LCEC) at the Immokalee
Regional Airport to provide electric service to a long-term tenant’s commercial aircraft hangars.
CONSIDERATIONS: LCEC has requested a utility easement for the installation of electric lines and infrastructure,
including, but not limited to, wires; cables; conduits; roads; trails and equipment associated therewith; and attachments
and appurtenant equipment for fiber optic telecommunications and television purposes. The easement area encompasses
10,895 square feet, as shown and legally described in Exhibit “A” attached to the Utility Easement document.
Conveyance of the easement will allow for infrastructure in compliance with the current County standards while
meeting demand, improving reliability, protecting public safety, and providing environmental protection. Staff
accordingly recommend that the Board of County Commissioners approve the conveyance of the attached Utility
Easement.
This item is consistent with the Collier County Strategic Plan objectives to plan and build public infrastructure and
facilities to effectively, efficiently, and sustainably meet the needs of our community and to develop and utilize
partnerships to ensure that government facilities meet public expectations.
FISCAL IMPACT: There are no costs associated with this item as LCEC will record the easement.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This item is consistent with Section B: Intermodal & Multimodal
Transportation, Subsection 2: Aviation of the Transportation Element of the Growth Management Plan.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been approved as to form and legality and requires a majority vote for
Board approval. - SAA
RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of Collier County Commissioners, acting as the Collier County Airport
Authority:
1. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the attached Utility Easement to be granted to Lee County
Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LCEC);
2. Authorize the County Manager, or her designee, to record the Utility Easement in the public records of Collier
County, Florida;
3. Authorize the County Manager or her designee to take the necessary measures to ensure the County’s
performance in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Utility Easement.
