Agenda 08/26/2025 Item # 5C (Mission Critical Partners discussing the 800MHz radio system w/Collier County Public Schools)8/26/2025 Item # 5.C ID# 2025-2470 Executive Summary *** This item is to be heard no sooner than 1:00 PM. *** Recommendation to accept a presentation by Mission Critical Partners discussing the 800MHz radio system as it relates to Collier County Public Schools. OBJECTIVE: To provide the Board of County Commissioners an update on the current radio system and the plan to work with Coller County Public Schools. CONSIDERATIONS: On June 10, 2025, County staff and consultants from Mission Critical Partners (MCP) presented an update on the L3Harris P25 Public Safety Radio System to the Board of County Commissioners. The presentation outlined the current status of the system, identified key deficiencies affecting its reliability and performance, and provided recommendations to close these critical gaps. These recommendations also take into account the need to accommodate future operational demands and technological advancements. This effort is part of a broader strategy to develop a comprehensive roadmap that ensures the County has a resilient, public safety-grade radio communications system. The roadmap will address the immediate needs of first-responders and general government users while planning for long-term sustainability and growth. Shortly after the June 10, 2025 BCC meeting, a Public Safety Radio Committee was formed to discuss these issues. As part of this informational presentation, Mission Critical Partners will provide details about the collaborative agreement reached with Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) in alignment with the County’s School Safety Plan. This item is consistent with the Collier County strategic plan objective to support and enhance our commitment to robust public safety services FISCAL IMPACT: There is no immediate impact from this informational presentation. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: No significant impact on growth management is anticipated.
