Zoning Director Layne explained there Are seven existing duplexes on Sixth Avenue, one single family house and eleven vacant lots. She said that based on the requirements of the ordinance Staff must recommend denial of this petition. Mr . Paul Taddoo, representing the petitioner , said that the property is in the central part of Marco Island that was platted In the 1960' s. He said in the original marketing Sites ue were designated for duplex construction. Her,eid onn Marco ng xIsland th nthere • i are 9 , 000 condominiums, approximately 9, 000 homusites, and of over 18,000 dwelling units which can be built , there are only 13 duplexes. He said a duplex is the most logical use of the property. Commissioner Kruse moved, seconded by Commissioner Holland and carried unanis.•+1sly, that the public hearing be closed.
