The Noticed to Proceed was issued to the Construction Manager(CM)on 2/21/2025.Site clearing activities begun soon after and the trees were felled to prepare the lot for construction. Because of unresolved issues with the property conveyance, activities had to be paused by the County before the site contractor could remove the cut vegetation,which was left on the ground. During the following weeks the area experienced severe drought and wind,which caused for the dry vegetation to become a fire hazard and a safety issue for the surrounding areas. It was unknown at the time of approving the GMP Amendment that a severe drought would have occurred, causing for the felled trees to become a fire hazard.To assure the safety of the citizens living in the surrounding areas, County Staff has issued a Work Directive Change authorizing the CM to remove the dry vegetation by constructing a temporary access to the job site off Golden Gate Pkwy.This was the most affordable solution that could be implemented;the new turn lane accessing the project site is not yet constructed. 4.) Describe the impact if this change is not processed. If this change order is not processed, it will not be possible to pay the Construction Manager for work that has been authorized by County staff,via Work Directive Change,to promptly resolve a safety issue at the construction site.Additionally the project will not move forward.
