Executive Summary
Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign two (2) mortgage satisfactions for the State Housing
Initiatives Partnership loan program in the amount of $54,000.00. (SHIP Grant Fund 1053)
OBJECTIVE: OBJECTIVE: To further the County’s strategic plan focus area on Community Development through
providing affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income residents through home ownership and/or
rehabilitation assistance programs funded by the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP).
CONSIDERATIONS: The State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program (SHIP), a state affordable housing program,
offers assistance to first-time homebuyers for use toward a portion of the required down
payment and emergency repairs to the newly acquired home, or rehabilitation assistance to homeowners for
rehabilitation to their homesteaded property.
As a condition of the purchase assistance award below, the homeowner must repay the assistance provided upon sale
prior to the end of the affordability period.
On a separate item today, a budget amendment is being presented to recognize the grant program income for $54,000.00.
The following table provides details regarding the associated mortgages that have met the affordability period or were
paid off. As such, satisfactions of mortgage are required.

Approval of this item will authorize the Chairman to sign the aforementioned mortgage satisfactions, and the executed
document shall be recorded in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
This item is consistent with the Collier County strategic plan objective to support comprehensive affordable housing
opportunities.
FISCAL IMPACT: A recording fee of $10.00 has been paid by the homeowners who sold their homes. The $10
recording fee for the satisfactions of mortgage will be paid from the SHIP Grant Fund (1053), Project 33863.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to form and
legality and requires a majority vote for Board approval. -JAK
