Executive Summary
Recommendation to accept a presentation on Facilities Management to include proposed strategies relating to deferred
maintenance, space utilization, public safety, security, and master planning.
OBJECTIVE: To initiate a dialogue on the current status of County buildings, properties, and facilities, leading to an
updated facility master plan.
CONSIDERATIONS: Staff has presented various master planning updates over the years, with the last occurring
approximately five years ago. This presentation will acknowledge where deficiencies occur today, resources necessary to
identify deferred maintenance (the size of the problem), and evaluation of space utilization opportunities to maximize
current and future conditions. The culmination of these efforts will lead to a master planning of physical plant space
effort that will incorporate County government operations inclusive of constitutional offices.
Maintenance of infrastructure is among the County's highest priorities.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no immediate impact from this presentation. The resources necessary to execute this
strategy are incorporated into the FY26 budget request.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: Maintenance of facilities is an integral part of concurrency within the AUIR.
