(Project No. 50510) OBJECTIVE: To approve Change Order No. 1 to add 90 days to Agreement No. 19-7525 and utilize $28,683.56 of the Owner’s Allowance for the Collier County “Main Campus Museum Structural Repairs” project. CONSIDERATIONS: On March 12, 2024 (Agenda Item 16.F.3), the Board awarded the Collier County “Main Campus Museum Structural Repairs” project under Agreement No. 19-7525 to Capital Contractors LLC for repairs to five historic structures at the Collier County Museum at the Government Center. Change Order No. 1 adds 90 days to the project time and utilizes $28,683.56 of the Owners Allowance, leaving a balance of $11,336.44. This change includes both Work Directives one and two which direct the contractor to complete additional minor repairs, relocate a screen door and obtain the required Site Development Plan Insubstantial Change (“SDPI”) to complete the construction work of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) compliant ramp. While those items were not included in the original base bid, an allowance was included to cover potential concealed damages, which is a likelihood during historical restoration work. In this case, additional dry rot was discovered once the walls were exposed during renovations. Additionally, although it was not initially considered to be required, an SDPI was determined to be necessary by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) due to the extent of the work required to complete the ADA compliant ramp. The completion of these additional repairs was directed in coordination with Museum professional staff and prevents further deterioration of these historical structures at the Main Campus Museum. This item is consistent with the Responsible Governance, Quality of Place, and Infrastructure and Asset Management strategic focus areas of the Collier County Strategic Plan. FISCAL IMPACT: Funds in the amount of $28,683.56 are available in the Museum Capital Fund (3026) within the Main Museum General Repair Project (50510). GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact to the current Growth Management Plan standards to ensure the adequacy and availability of viable public facilities. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for Board approval. —SRT RECOMMENDATIONS: To approve Change Order No. 1, adding 90 days to the project time and utilizing $28,683.56 of the Owner’s Allowance for Purchase Order No. 4500230829 under Agreement No. 19-7525 with Capital Contractors, LLC for repairs to five historic structures at the Collier County Museum at the Government Center, and authorize the Chairman to sign the attached Change Order.
