Executive Summary
Recommendation to reappoint William Harris to the Vanderbilt Beach Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee.
OBJECTIVE: To reappoint William Harris to the Vanderbilt Beach Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee, to a
four-year term expiring on November 13, 2028.
CONSIDERATIONS:
This five-member committee was established on July 31, 2001 by Ordinance No. 2001-43. The committee
assists the BCC in carrying out the purposes of the MSTU, prepares and recommends to the BCC an itemized
budget for the MSTU, and recommends work programs and priorities to the County Manager. Members must
be permanent residents within the MSTU boundaries. Terms are 4 years. A list of the current membership is
included in the backup.
Two seats on this committee will expire on November 13, 2024. The pending vacancies were advertised and
the following application was received:

ATTENDANCE: In the past two years William Harris has had two excused absences. Attendance records
are included in the backup.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: At its regular meeting on October 3, 2024, the committee voted
unanimously to recommend that Mr. Harris be reappointed to his seat on the committee, to a four-year term
which shall expire on November 13, 2028. A recommendation memo is included in the backup. The
remaining vacancy will continue to be advertised.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this action.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for Board

RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of County Commissioners adopts the Committee Recommendation and
authorizes the Chair to execute the attached resolution confirming the reappointment.

RESOLUTION NO. 2024 - _____
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, REAPPOINTING WILLIAM
HARRIS TO THE VANDERBILT BEACH BEAUTIFICATION
ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, Collier County Ordinance No. 2001-43 established the Vanderbilt Beach
Beautification Advisory Committee (Committee) to aid and assist the Board of County
Commissioners (Board) in carrying out the purposes of the Vanderbilt Beach Beautification
Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU); and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2001-43, as amended, provides that this Committee shall
consist of five members who reside within the MSTU; and
WHEREAS, there are two seats on this Committee which will expire on November 13,
2024; and
WHEREAS, the Board previously provided public notice soliciting applications from
interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has provided the Board with its recommendation for
reappointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that WILLIAM HARRIS is hereby
reappointed to his seat on the Vanderbilt Beach Beautification Advisory Committee, to serve a
four-year term which shall expire on November 13, 2028.
THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED upon majority vote on the 12th day of November, 2024.
