Presentation: An update on the status of Hurricane Milton and its potential impacts on Collier County Presented by Dan Summers, with the recommendation for all to have the following: Make sure you have Cash, Communication with family and friends, 4-7 days of Food & Water, register for the County Alert System, help your Neighbors, and Be Patient • Details/Recommendations: There may be 4 – 7 feet of storm surge, keep an eye out for tornado watches/ warnings, we will have tropical storm wind and they are looking at a CAT 3 around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, sustained winds will be 45 – 50 mph, 80% probability for storm force winds starting on Tuesday, Voluntary Precautionary Evacuation can start immediately for Zones A & B; City of Marco, Everglades City, Goodland, Chokoloskee and the City of Naples. Mandatory (strongest recommendation) Evacuation for Zones A & B, effective 6 am Tuesday, 10/8; Shelter sites to open Tuesday, need to declare a State of Emergency, Curfew need possible; CAT fees, EMS Calls will waive billing, the EOC will be open on Tuesday 10/8 at 6 am; there will be no bulk trash collection & no curbside trash pickup on Tuesday or Wednesday • Sheriff Rambosk – Communication with all county departments & County Manager, the Coastal Security Plan are all working together along with the City of Naples, Marco Island, and Everglades City, if a curfew is needed the County Manager is available to us.
