Executive Summary
Recommendation to receive additional information regarding intersection safety and countermeasures that may assist in
reducing red light running.
OBJECTIVE: To receive a report from the Transportation Management Services Department and Collier County
Sheriff's Office regarding intersection safety.
CONSIDERATIONS: At the September 10, 2024, Board meeting, the Board directed the Transportation Management
Services Department to bring back information regarding the Immokalee/Logan Boulevard intersection and specific
measures regarding signal maintenance. In addition, the Collier County Sheriff committed to presenting existing
enforcement activities, additional enforcement as well as other countermeasures that may require support from the
Florida Legislature.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact to receive the report. However, countermeasures identified may require
consultant/contractor assistance or require additional staff.
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This item is consistent with the Transportation Element of the Growth
Management Plan
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal issues at this time
and requires majority vote for action. -JAK
RECOMMENDATIONS: To receive follow up reports from both the Transportation Management Services Department
and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
