EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to accept the report for sale of 62 items and approve the disbursement of funds in the
amount of $181,435 allocated to the corresponding revenue fund associated with the County surplus auction
held on April 19, 2024.
OBJECTIVE: To present the results of the recent Collier County surplus auction to the Board of County
Commissioners (“Board”).
CONSIDERATIONS: On February 27, 2024 (Item 16.E.1), the Board authorized staff to conduct an auction to
dispose of County-owned property and generate revenue for the County. This auction was held on April 19, 2024,
by our contracted vendor, Royal Auction Group, Inc.
Staff is recommending that revenue attributable to distinct legal entities such as the County Water -Sewer District,
the Airport Authority, and MSTU funds be credited to the appropriate fund accounts for those entities; that pursuant
to 49 U.S.C. 5334(h)(4), the net revenue from the sale of transit assets funded by the Federal Transit Administration
(FTA) be credited in accordance with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) grant procedures; and that all
other revenue be credited to the General Fund and the Motor Pool Capital Replacement fund as appropriate. In
keeping with that directive, staff has allocated the revenue from the sale as follows:

FISCAL IMPACT: Under this contract, there is no auctioneer’s commission charged, but a buyer’s premium was
implemented. Please see above information for the breakdown of revenues.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to form and
legality and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this auction.
