A RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TO
ACCEPT A SPECIAL CATEGORY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF
FIVE HUNDRED TWELVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND
SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS ($512,872), FROM THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF STATE, DIVISION OF HISTORICAL
RESOURCES, FOR THE STABILIZATION AND RESTORATION
OF THE MARGOOD COTTAGES; COMMITTING TWO
HUNDRED FIFTY SIX THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND
THIRTY SIX DOLLARS ($256,436) OF THE FUND 306 PARKS
CAPITAL PROJECTS RESERVES TO COMPLY WITH THE
CASH MATCH REQUIREMENT OF THE GRANT; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") has
been advised that the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources, is
offering Special Category Grants to units of government; and
WHEREAS, the Board acquired the property known as "Margood Cottages" to
preserve as a significant historical site and to potentially develop the historic Margood
Cottages into a cultural museum focused on the agricultural and pioneer history of
southwest Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Board is proposing to use the grant funding for the stabilization
and rehabilitation of the Margood Cottages to support the continued museum use; and
WHEREAS, the Board wishes to memorialize its commitment of the required
cash "match" in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Six Thousand Four Hundred Thirty
Six Dollars ($256,436) from the Parks Capital Projects Reserves Fund 306 for the
proposed grant request; and
WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners has determined
that it is in the best interests of the County and its citizens to execute this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Board hereby authorizes the County Manager or her designee to execute
all documents necessary to accept the Special Category Grant in the amount of Five
Hundred Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy Two Dollars ($512,872) from the
Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources.

Section 2: The Board hereby acknowledges and agrees that it will use the requested grant
funds for the stabilization and rehabilitation of the MarGood Cottages to support the
intended cultural museum use for the enjoyment of the public.
Section 3: The Board hereby acknowledges that it will commit a required"match"no less
than 50% of the grant request amount, or Two Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand Four
Hundred Thirty-Six Dollars ($256,436), from Parks Capital Projects Reserves Fund 306
to fulfill the match requirements of the grant.
Section 4: Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
by the Collier County Board of County Commissioners.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted by the Collier County Board of County
Commissioners on June 25, 2024.

This Amendment is between the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Historical Resources
hereinafter referred to as the"Division"and Collier County Board of County Commissioners, hereinafter referred
to as the"Grantee".
The parties entered into a grant agreement for the implementation of a Special Category grant, for Restoration and
Interpretation of the Historic Mar-Good Cottages, The parties now mutually desire to amend certain terms and
conditions of the grant agreement,
In consideration of the covenants contained herein, it is agreed:
All section of the original grant agreement not specifically amended by this or a prior written amendment and all
prior wiitten amendments arc hereby reaffirmed.

12, Grant Reporting Requirements:

Date set forth in Section 2 above. All final reports must document the completion of all deliverables/tasks,
expenses and activities that occurred by the Grant Period End Date, The Grantee may expend funds only for
allowable costs resulting from obligations incurred during the specified agreement period. Expenditures of state or
federal financial assistance must be in compliance with the laws, n►les, and regulations applicable to expenditures
of state and federal funds, including, but not limited to, this Agreement, the Reference Guide for State
Expenditures, 2 CFR Part 200.
