Attachment 16D11 RESOLUTION NO. 2024- 1 22 A RESOLUTION OF THE COLLIER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TO ACCEPT A SPECIAL CATEGORY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED TWELVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS ($512,872), FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF STATE, DIVISION OF HISTORICAL RESOURCES, FOR THE STABILIZATION AND RESTORATION OF THE MARGOOD COTTAGES; COMMITTING TWO HUNDRED FIFTY SIX THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY SIX DOLLARS ($256,436) OF THE FUND 306 PARKS CAPITAL PROJECTS RESERVES TO COMPLY WITH THE CASH MATCH REQUIREMENT OF THE GRANT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") has been advised that the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources, is offering Special Category Grants to units of government; and WHEREAS, the Board acquired the property known as "Margood Cottages" to preserve as a significant historical site and to potentially develop the historic Margood Cottages into a cultural museum focused on the agricultural and pioneer history of southwest Florida; and WHEREAS, the Board is proposing to use the grant funding for the stabilization and rehabilitation of the Margood Cottages to support the continued museum use; and WHEREAS, the Board wishes to memorialize its commitment of the required cash "match" in the amount of Two Hundred Fifty Six Thousand Four Hundred Thirty Six Dollars ($256,436) from the Parks Capital Projects Reserves Fund 306 for the proposed grant request; and WHEREAS, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners has determined that it is in the best interests of the County and its citizens to execute this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Board hereby authorizes the County Manager or her designee to execute all documents necessary to accept the Special Category Grant in the amount of Five Hundred Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy Two Dollars ($512,872) from the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources.
