Agenda 06/25/2024 Item #16B 1 (Landscape Maintenance Agreement with Tamarindo Community Association, Inc., for irrigation improvements within Sabal Palm Road public right-of-way)06/25/2024 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Landscape Maintenance Agreement with Tamarindo Community Association, Inc., for irrigation improvements within Sabal Palm Road public right - of-way. ____________________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVE: To allow for privately maintained beautifying landscaping and irrigation improvements within County right-of-way through the installation of sod and an irrigation system. CONSIDERATIONS: The Tamarindo Community Association, Inc., will maintain the right-of way along Sabal Palm Road. The planting is limited to sod and an irrigation which will support the ground cover. The Association will be responsible for the mowing and edging along the sidewalk, debris removal, weeding, fertilization, and pest control as deemed necessary. The agreement requires specifications for irrigation maintenance as provided in Schedule “B”. There is an annual cost savings of approximately $100.00 associated with contracted rural mowing. Collier County will not be responsible for mowing of the right-of-way that is adjacent to the Tamarindo Development, approximately .40 acres. The agreement aligns with the Collier County Strategic Plan’s Quality of Place Objective to preserve and enhance the character of our community. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no cost associated with this agreement. Tamarindo Community Association, Inc., is responsible for all recording fees. GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: This recommendation is consistent with the Growth Management Plan, Transportation Element, Objective 1 to maintain the major roadway system at an acceptable Level of Service by implementing improvements as identified in the Annual Update and Inventory Report (AUIR) or by working directly with other responsible jurisdictions to implement needed improvements to their facilities.
