Yellow highlighting indicates items that need to be addressed as soon as possible for safety issues, potential plant damage or to reduce future maintenance issues. X X The Salvia annuals at St. Andrews & US41 and at Doral Cr. Median #23 have powdery mildew that needs to be treated and plants removed. Based upon the end of the month anticipated annual replacements it is recommended to remove all the Salvia plants and treat the Geraniums, Dusty Miller and planting area with a fungicide containing potassium bicarbonate, neem oil, sulfur, or copper. As has occurred in the past it is also recommended solarization start two weeks prior to annual plantings. Solarization is the process of covering the annual planting area with weighted down black plastic to reduce weeds, insects and/or disease. If Geraniums remain then the dead bloom heads need to be removed. X X Many planting areas are in need of mulching. RFQ Southeast Spreading St. Andrews Blvd. & US 41 Inbound R/W South X X Recommend spraying Spider lilies along backside of sidewalk with fungicide. Outbound R/W North Suncoast Credit Union side X X In front of the sign (9) newly planted Ixora shrubs have considerable dead foliage from what appears to be water stress. Increase irrigation to two-three times per day and check the irrigation coverage. Recommend mulching plants as soon as possible. REVIEW X X 2 It is recommended to remove all dead and/or damaged Paurotis palm stalks that were the result of the previous accident at the sign. Additional stalks have been flagged with white tape and they are recommended to be removed because of issue with area lighting or sign structure. Cut flush or at 6-inches above grade.
