OBJECTIVE: To hear an update on the State Veterans’ Nursing Home project from the Florida Department of
Veterans’ Affairs.

an Escrow Agreement to allow the County to transfer $30 million of Infrastructure Sales Surtax funds to serve as

Home in Collier County. In addition, the County agreed to convey real property within the Golden Gate Golf
Course to the State for the nursing home at some time in the future once additional FDVA requirements have been
met.
On June 13, 2023, the Board allocated an additional $10 million from surplus Infrastructure Sales Surtax revenues
to be provided toward the construction of additional facilities for adult day health care services and outpatient
therapy. During the 2024 Regular Session of the Legislature, the State also appropriated an additional $10 million
for the facility.
The deadline for the State’s initial application to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the VA
Construction Grant Program was April 15, 2024. FDVA submitted the initial grant application on April 9, 2024.
