X X The Salvia annuals at St. Andrews & US41 and at Doral Cr. Median #23 have powdery mildew that needs to be treated and plants removed. Based upon the end of the month anticipated annual replacements it is recommended to remove all the Salvia plants and treat the Geraniums, Dusty Miller and planting area with a fungicide containing potassium bicarbonate, neem oil, sulfur, or copper. As has occurred in the past it is also recommended solarization start two weeks prior to annual plantings. Solarization is the process of covering the annual planting area with weighted down black plastic to reduce weeds, insects and/or disease. If Geraniums remain then the dead bloom heads need to be removed. X X Many planting areas are in need of mulching. To be ordered next week, to install before Easter. St. Andrews Blvd. & US 41 Inbound R/W South X X No major issues observed. Outbound R/W North Suncoast Credit Union side X X It is recommended to remove all dead and/or damaged Paurotis palm stalks that were the result of the previous accident at the sign. Additional stalks have been flagged with white tape and they are recommended to be removed because of issue with area lighting or sign structure. Cut flush or at 6-inches above grade. X X At the shopping center entry, on the outbound side onto St. Andrews the Bougainvillea Silhouette along the back side of the sidewalk need to be minimally one-foot off the back of the sidewalk edge. X X 16 The south purple Trumpet tree was rolled over during the storm. It was observed that the trunk had rotated out of the root ball and may have broken some main roots. Based upon what was observed while the tree was down it is recommended this tree be replaced because it may no ever re-root properly and become secure.
