Agenda 03/26/2024 Item #16C 2 (To approve easement to Florida Power & Light Co.)03/26/2024 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to approve an Easement to Florida Power & Light Co., for installation of a switch cabinet to facilitate conversion of overhead to underground service, at the Golden Gate Wastewater Treatment Plant at 4931 32nd Ave SW, Naples, Florida _____________________________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVE: To obtain approval of the FPL Easement to install a switch cabinet which will allow for conversion of overhead to underground electrical service to the Golden Gate Wastewater Treatment Plant. CONSIDERATIONS: The Public Utilities Department is responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance at the Golden Gate Wastewater Treatment Plant. In order for Florida Power & Light Co. (hereafter “FPL”) to provide the necessary power for the wastewater treatment plant, it will be necessary to execute and record the attached Easement to FPL. The Easement comprises a total of 400 square feet, more or less, as shown and described on Exhibit “A” of the Easement. The Easement has been reviewed and approved by Collier County Public Utilities and the County Attorney’s Office. FISCAL IMPACT: Recording costs shall not exceed twenty-five ($25.00) dollars and will be paid from Collier Water/Sewer Bond Proceeds Fund (4019). GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no impact to the Collier County Growth Management Plan. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for approval. - SAA RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the attached Easement and authorizes the Chairman to execute the Easement; and directs the County Manager or designee to proceed to follow all appropriate procedures to record the Easement in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
