TDC Minutes 10/22/2007 W October 22, 2007 MINUTES OF THE COLLIER COUNTY TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING Naples, Florida, October 22, 2007 LET IT BE REMEMBERED, that Collier County Tourist Development Council in and for the County of Collier, having conducted business herein, met on this date at 9:00 AM in a WORKSHOP SESSION in Building "F" of The Government Complex, Naples, Florida with the Following members present: Chairman: Commissioner Jim Coletta (Excused) Vice Chairman: E. Call to Order The workshop was called to order by Vice Chairman Tucker at 9:01 A.M. II. Roll Call A quorum was established. III. Changes and Approval of Agenda Mr. Olesky moved to approve the agenda without additions. Second by Mr. Hill. Motion carried unanimously 6-0. IV. Grant Guideline Review 1. Category B Grant Application Mr. Wert provided a handout to the Council entitled "Category "B" Grant and Event Sponsorship Application" dated October 22, 2007 and presented a Power Point presentation highlighting the handout. The Council made the following recommendations: 1. On page #4, one member of the Restaurant industry and one member of the Retail industry should be added to the Review Committee. 2. On Page #6, "First Time Events" should be placed under "Sponsorships and Event Bid Fees". 3. On Page #11, the Repeat Funding Requests "Maximum % of Funding Allowed" should be revised to: . 2nd Year - Up to 80% . 3rd Year - Up to 60 % . 4th Year - Up to 40% The document will be revised and presented at the Tourist Development Council November meeting for approval. 2. Category C Grant Application Mr. Wert provided a handout to the Council entitled "Category "C" Museum Grant Application" dated October 22, 2007 and presented a Power Point presentation highlighting the handout. The Council made the following recommendations: 1. On page #4, one member of the Restaurant industry and one member of the Retail industry should be added to the Review Committee. V. Category C Grant Guidelines Reviewed under item IV -2. VI. In Kind Contributions Discussed under item IV - 1, 2 VII. Other Items for Discussion 2 October 22, 2007 Elaine Reed, Executive Director of the Naples Historical Society appeared before the Council to explore the feasibility of the Society applying for a Category "COO Grant. The Council directed her to contact Staff to arrange a meeting. There being no further business for the good of the County, the workshop was concluded by order of the Chair at 10:00 A.M.
