Backup Documents 12/12/2023 Item # 4C 4c PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, twenty years ago in 2003, the first Distinguished Public Service Awards Ceremony was held in Naples, Florida, by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce marking the beginning of recognizing and honoring public service professionals; and WHEREAS, the Distinguished Public Service Awards Program was made stronger by partnering with the Collier County 100 Club and their commitment to help first responders and their families; and WHEREAS, on November 7, 2023, the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, Collier County 100 Club, and the community came together to honor the recipients of the 2023 Distinguished Public Service Awards; and WHEREAS, the Law Enforcement recipients are: Deputy Ethin Emilius (CCSO), Deputy Joseph LaFlower (CCSO), Sergeant Michael Sweely (CCSO), and Corporal Timothy White (CCSO); and WHEREAS, the Fire recipients are: Captain/Paramedic Scott Palmateer, Captain/EMT Shannon Rhodes, Engineer/Paramedic Dustin Gourley, Firefighter/EMT Gage McKinney, and Firefighter/EMT Jessica Yoo; and WHEREAS, the EMS recipient is: EMT Justin Hayes; and WHEREAS, the citizens of Southwest Florida appreciate the extraordinary efforts and selfless acts carried out by the award recipients and all first responders who contribute to the well-being of Collier County; NOW THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County, Florida, on the 20t`' anniversary of the Distinguished Public Service Awards that November be designated as DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE AWARDS MONTH IN COLLIER COUNTY DONE AND ORDERED THIS 12T" Day of December 2023.
