EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Recommendation to recognize accrued interest from the period April 1, 2023, through September
30, 2023, earned by EMS County Grant, Project No. 33655, and appropriate funds for a total
amount of $3,642.00

OBJECTIVE: To appropriate accrued interest earned from April 1, 2023, through December September
30, 2023 for EMS County Grants awarded by the Florida Department of Health under the Emergency
Medical Services County Grant Programs.
CONSIDERATIONS: Each year EMS is awarded a grant through the Florida Department of Health,
Bureau of EMS. The State allows for the rollover of any unexpended funds, including interest, to the next
year’s grant for County expenditure. Interest in EMS Grant Fund 4053 has accrued to a balance of
$3,642.00 through September 30, 2023. Staff is seeking Board approval to recognize and appropriate this
accrued interest in order to expend the funds.
FISCAL IMPACT: A Budget Amendment is required to recognize a total of $3,642.00 within EMS
Grant Fund 4053, Project 33655 for accrued interest.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, raises no legal
issues and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK
GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners approves the necessary Budget
Amendments in the amount of $3,642.00 to appropriate accrued interest through September 30, 2023.
