Steve, Thomas Marine Construction prides itself on completing projects on time and on budget. Unfortunately on this project we need to request 30 additional calendar days from the current substantial completion date of 10/1/23. In the past couple of years,the construction industry has had unprecedented shortages of resources including materials and labor. As much as we tried to not let this happen,the Golden Gate Parkway Bridge Replacement project has fallen victim to this industry wide issue as well.Thomas Marine Construction has fought through it with our own self perform work, but the bulk of the delays have come from finding subcontractors and material suppliers with the ability and resources themselves to perform the specialty subcontract work on time as scheduled to meet the original substantial completion date.
