Agenda 09/26/2023 Item #16F 5 (Donate a surplus vehicle to Evergalades City)09/26/2023 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation to donate a surplus vehicle to Everglades City and authorize the Procurement Director, as designee for County Manager, to sign for the transfer of vehicle title pursuant to Florida Statute Chapter 274.05. _______________________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVE: To provide Everglades City with a vehicle that has met the Collier County vehicle replacement standards, which will greatly assist Everglades City after vehicle losses from Hurricane Ian. CONSIDERATIONS: Collier County has been asked for vehicle donations by Everglades City. The County has designated one vehicle as surplus. This vehicle identified, Asset number CC2-1392(VIN: 1FMCU0F70HUA46210), is a 2017 Ford Escape with approximately 131,747 miles has met its useful life and was scheduled for auction. The Fleet Management Division will complete preventative maintenance and repairs and Everglades City will reimburse Collier County; the repairs will cost $2,499.75. Since this vehicle m et Collier County replacement standards and a new vehicle has been placed in service, it can be put to good use by the City of Everglades City, rather than auctioned. FISCAL IMPACT: The estimated auction value of the vehicle is $4,000.00 which revenue the County would lose because of the donation. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item has been reviewed by the County Attorney, is approved as to form and legality and requires majority vote for approval. -JAK GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this item. RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners authorizes the donation of the vehicle identified as asset number CC2-1392(VIN: 1FMCU0F70HUA46210), a 2017 Ford Escape, to be repaired by Fleet Management at a cost of $2499.75, while being reimbursed by the Everglades City $2,499.75 and then donate the vehicle to the City of Everglades City and authorize the Procurement Director, as designee for the County Manager, to sign for the transfer of vehicle title.
