Storm Surge
Flooding
▪Storm Surge:
▪The push of water over land generated by wave and wind
action.
▪Always difficult to predict… when we are along the fringe
of the storm’s swath.
▪Idalia:
▪Could produce a 1-3 ft storm surge, down from earlier
discussions.-Always subject to change.
▪If you live along the coastal community, low -lying
areas, potentially west and south of US 41 should
closely monitor conditions for some short-duration
localized roadway flooding.
▪Early estimates of rainfall are only 1-2 inches.
▪An unstable atmosphere could generate Tornadic
activity, so expect those watches and warnings.
