Agenda 08/22/2023 Item #16G 1 (Execute a utility easement to Lee County Electric Cooperative, Inc. at the Immokalee Regional Airport)08/22/2023 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Recommendation that the Board of County Commissioners, acting as the Collier County Airport Authority, approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a utility easement to Lee County Electric Cooperative, Inc., (LCEC) at the Immokalee Regional Airport to provide electricity to a long-term tenant’s commercial aircraft hangars and flight school offices. OBJECTIVE: To convey an easement for the installation of electric infrastructure on Collier County property required to supply power for a commercial hangar development project at the Immokalee Regional Airport. CONSIDERATIONS: On May 11, 2021, Agenda Item No. 16G1, the Board of County Commissioners, acting as the Collier County Airport Authority, approved a Leasehold Agreement for Hangar Construction with Global Flight Training Solutions Inc., for the construction of new aircraft hangars and flight school offices at the Immokalee Regional Airport (IMM). This project requires an easement to LCEC for the installation of electric lines and infrastructure including, but not limited to, conduit, poles, and transformer boxes for the new hangars. The easement area measures approximately 1,969 square feet and is shown and described on the Sketch and Description attached to the Easement. Conveyan ce of the easement will allow for infrastructure in compliance with current county standards while meeting demand, improving reliability, protecting public safety, and providing environmental protection. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost for recording and obtaining copies of the easement documents will not exceed $100.00. Funds are available in Airport Authority Operating Fund (4090), Immokalee Regional Airport Cost Center (192330). GROWTH MANAGEMENT IMPACT: There is no growth management impact associated with this Executive Summary. LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: This item is approved for form and legality and requires a majority vote for Board action. -DDP RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of County Commissioners, acting as the Collier County Airport Authority, approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a utility easement to Lee County Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LCEC) at the Immokalee Regional Airport to provide electricity to a tenant’s aircraft hangers and flight school offices and direct the County Manager or designee to follow all appropriate closing procedures and record the Easement in the Public Records of Collier County, Florida.
