Roll call was conducted, and quorum was met. Minutes from January 13, 2022, meeting was approved. New Business United Way was approved by Citizen Corps and now must go before the Board of County Commissioners for approval. There was discussion of having the Advisory Committee appoint a secretary to take minutes, but no members were nominated in the meeting. EM Staff will continue to transcribe the meeting minutes. Law Enforcement Update — No Law Enforcement member present Old Business Local Mitigation Strategy Updates William Lang — LMS • handed out the quarterly report, with recap of 2021. Not many changes. • No HMGP Grant opportunities. • The State (FEMA) provided traditional grants 75.5 cost split. 75 % Fed 25% local in response to some items and some fed legislation they were able to change those numbers to 90/10. • Two disasters Sally, Covid Last pot of money from Sally. • Through the State of Florida there is a Grant opportunity to HOA being dropped. The Governor's office got involved and pushed out initiatives, with prerequisites. • Two vacancies on the LMS o Parks and Rec o GMD (Planning/zoning) Camilo Torres- DOH • DOH continues to work their testing sites. These are walk up only Monday — Friday 9:00-4:00. • Percentage of testing is at 20%. Testing is starting to increase; it went from 20 patients a day up to 200. • Monkeypox is low risk in Florida. • Urging parents to get their kids vaccinated before school. DOH has all the vaccines needed available. Mike Shaw —Training and Exercise • ICS 400 is coming up August 2-3 and still have a couple spots open • Looking for more to register for the Instructor Development Workshop that is taking place August 16-18, 2022 • ICS 300 will be held on December 6-8, 2022, there are spots still available. • The Naples Airport Exercise had their initial midterm planning meeting and the second one will take place on August 8, 2022. The full-scale exercise will take place on October 25, 2022 Ashley Jones — Salvation Army • Been busy getting their volunteer teams up and running. • Brand new kitchen on wheels that is being utilized to assist with the new volunteers and their trainings. • Ministry of presence training will be held Saturday Aug 12, 2022, 8:00-12:00 and the Serve Safe training will be help in the afternoon. • Disaster Food Service and Canteen Operations Training will be held on August 13 from 9:00-4:00 • The Salvation Army will be assisting with the Lipman Backpack Giveaway and will have their canteen out there. • They will also be participating in the Big Bus Event November 5 • The Salvation Army continues to work closely with the American Red Cross. They get a fair number of referrals from the East Coast Branch of the Red Cross. Spencer Smith - United Way — Collier and Keys • Volunteer Florida Grant • Oversees all Community Impact between Collier and Monroe County • Doubling down on all the grant funded projects through various grants • Working with Salvation Army found of funding long term recovery • They are on their 3rd round of funding and hoping this is the last. They received $500,000 and are about halfway through that. • Working on getting another 100k in additional funding and this will assist with about 10 more houses in Collier County. • Been working on case management through Emergency Solutions Grants, Covid Variation with Continued Care Group and the Hunger and Homeless, assisting families with rent assistance from the effects of Covid. • 9 Counties will receive with 4.5 million dollars due to exceptional performance, to get a million back for the community. • Individual Reports Larry Kielasa - ARES Continue to work on ARES has gotten some good reporting Exercise with CCSO after August 10th meeting Will try to locate a fair amount of people at the substations. Project Director for the RSVP • 90 Volunteers now, trying to increase volunteers seasonal and year-round. • Can help with volunteer's fundraisers, activities, • Recently mobilized 21 volunteers to help with packing kids • Training with Emergency Management Mike Shaw - Emergency Management Vacancies EM are still trying to fill PAC, We now have the Telecommunications manager, and are looking to hire an assistant. Most of pre -storm logistics and staging of equipment's is finished. Purchased ARCGIS for WebEOC — will be able to push more information out. This will help the public to decided where they need to go during a storm. These programs will be incorporated sometime down the road. Barry Gerenstein —CERT CERT Teams North C Fire and Greater Naples North Collier July 9 CERT class was canceled low attendance, holding an event at Coastland Mall on Nov V. This is being put on NCC. GN CERT They have a gotten a good start back in Feb. They have had a couple public events with high attendance and was televised. Verona Walk received the CPR AED introductory course from Greater Naples Fire.
